Right now I'm working on some extremely heavy revisions to The Honeymoon, a book I wrote about 20 years ago.
One of the things I'm addressing with the manuscript is that it was written so long ago that the technology is hilarious. Check out this little section, all of which can be deleted and replaced with "he pulled out his phone" 🤣🤣🤣
"He pulled his address book and daily planner out of his suitcase and flipped to the right page, then sat down and read the hotel’s directions for getting an outside line. Picking up the handset with his left hand, he started to dial the number..."
I've also found that the characters spend a ridiculous amount of timing hunting for phone booths and internet cafes. Their lives are getting so much easier in this draft!
Be sure to subscribe to my newsletter so you can learn more about The Honeymoon and my other upcoming books. I promise none of them will include hotel directions for accessing outside lines.
